Our family calls him “our little guide.” He calls Fort Phantom his fishing water. Based in Hawley, Texas, Mario guides crappie trips, with catfish and hybrid trips in the mix.

Come with your people, a little curiosity, and the day ahead of you. We’ll get the tackle ready, bring the cold water, and clean and bag your fish before you head home.

Where will we fish?

Mario guides on Fort Phantom Hill Lake and is based in Hawley, Texas. Both 6 AM and 2 PM starts are available during active fishing weeks, every other week. He will confirm the active week, arrival time and trip length when you arrange your trip.

Is it all about crappie?

Crappie is Mario's specialty. Catfish and hybrid trips are also part of his Fort Phantom Hill Lake offering. Tell him what you have in mind and plan the day together.

What does a trip cost, and what should I bring?

Call Mario for current rates and group size. Tackle, cold water, and fish cleaning and bagging are included. Bring your preferred drinks; beer is BYOB.

What if the weather or my plans change?

Call Mario to talk it through. He will confirm the cancellation, weather and rescheduling terms with you before your trip.
